Literature Text
I’m not ashamed of the scars on my wrists,
Or on my thighs,
Or upon my chest.
When I was silent
They screamed for help.
They said words
I could never bring myself to say.
You should be ashamed
The ones who brought me to my knees.
Those who gave me no escape,
No freedom from your words.
You caused so much pain,
So much I could barely stand it.
I am not ashamed of my scars,
They saved me from you.
Or on my thighs,
Or upon my chest.
When I was silent
They screamed for help.
They said words
I could never bring myself to say.
You should be ashamed
The ones who brought me to my knees.
Those who gave me no escape,
No freedom from your words.
You caused so much pain,
So much I could barely stand it.
I am not ashamed of my scars,
They saved me from you.

Bit of a trigger warning for you guys, so be careful you beautiful people. I needed to vent a bit and sometimes it comes out as art, sometimes as poetry.
